Please note that, in accordance with the teaching rules of Confucius Institute at the University of Zagreb, it is required to attend at least 70% of the class, in order to be able to take the final exam. In addition to the final exam, participants will also have one midterm exam during the semester. The overall, final grade of each participant in the course consists of several elements (teaching assignments during the semester 40% of the total grade, midterm exam 20% of the total grade, final exam 40% of the total grade, with the condition of achieving a score of 60% to pass the final exam). At least 60% of all elements must be achieved for the successful completion of the semester. Confucius Institute of the University of Zagreb will provide all the materials necessary for teaching.
APPLICATION FOR THE ENTRANCE EXAM
Enrollment procedure for the Online Beginner Chinese Language Course at Confucius Institute at the University of the Zagreb, in winter semester of 2022/2023, starts with the application to an entrance exam.
Applications for the entrance exam are made through the online form.
Applications are accepted from Thursday, July 21, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. to Sunday, August 28, 2022, at 10:00 p.m.
Please enter the required information correctly as it will be used throughout the entire process of your entrance exam, enrollment, and in later stages, your course attendance and issuance of a course completion certificate.
Please note that applications are received ONLY through the online form and ONLY at the specified time (starting on Thursday, July 21, 2022, at 10:00, a.m., ending on Sunday, August 28, 2022, at 10:00 p.m.). Applications out of the specified time will not be taken into account in any case, as well as phone applications or applications sent by e-mail.
MATERIALS FOR THE ENTRANCE EXAM
At the end of the application deadline, all registered candidates will receive instructions and will be introduced to the online system for conducting the entrance exam by Confucius Institute at the University of Zagreb, on the website https://mooc.carnet.hr/
The materials required for the preparation and successful passing of the entrance exam will be available to all registered candidates within the system from Monday, August 22, 2022, at 8:00 a.m. The materials will be available for download until Monday, September 5, 2022, at 5:00 p.m. The preparation materials are in English.
ENTRANCE EXAM
The entrance exam will be held on Monday, September 5, 2022, starting at 6:00 p.m. and ending at 7:00 p.m., on the website https://mooc.carnet.hr/
The exam will contain 50 to 70 questions from language and cultural part, and writing a short motivational text. The maximum number of points that can be obtained on the exam is 100. Exam questions are in English. The exam is conducted through an online system at https://mooc.carnet.hr/
To take the exam, we recommend using a computer or a laptop to avoid technical difficulties. During the exam, on September 5, 2022, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., all candidates will be provided with WhatsApp support from the Confucius Institute, ONLY for reporting technical difficulties within the online system.
Candidates will be ranked according to the number of points achieved in the language and cultural part of the exam, while the motivational text will be taken into consideration in case several candidates have the same number of points.
RESULTS OF THE ENTRANCE EXAM AND ENROLLMENTS
The first, unofficial results of the entrance exam will be sent to all candidates by e-mail on Tuesday, September 6, 2022, by 1:00 p.m.
Appeals and objections to the results of the entrance exam can be submitted to the three-member appealing committee of Confucius Institute at the University of Zagreb, from Tuesday, September 6, 2022, from 1:00 p.m. to Wednesday, September 7, 2022, until 1:00 p.m. The appealing committee will decide on timely submitted appeals and objections on Thursday, September 8, 2022.
Final and official results will be sent to all candidates by e-mail on Thursday, September 8, 2022, by 1:00 p.m.
Enrollment of the accepted candidates will be conducted from Thursday, September 8, 2022, at 1:00 p.m., in accordance with the results of the entrance exam.
The classification of candidates into groups during enrollment will be done automatithe cally by the Confucius Institute at the University of Zagreb, in accordance with the selection of group dates that candidates selected during the process.
